Jobs and Help
The X-Culture Project is an excellent platform for professional and personal networking and growth. We offer many opportunities to get involved.
Please note, we generally do not offer jobs as in “you do the job and we pay you for it”. Some positions can eventually lead to earnings. But this is not why people get involved with X-Culture.
We offer opportunities to try new things. Gain international, managerial, and academic experience. Meet new people. Find future co-authors and business partners. Academic advisers and graduate assistants. Maybe even use X-Culture to jump-start your own business.
And sometimes we simply need help.
Below is a list of positions, tasks, and programs where you can apply and multiply your skills and talents.
And help us make the world a better place.

Many X-Culture instructors have asked their students to blog about their X-Culture experience – and it worked very well!
We would like to provide an opportunity to everyone (students, instructors, companies) to blog about their X-Culture experiences.
We can add blogging functionality to our website, but we need a person who can help set up and manage this program, moderate the posts if needed, encourage the project participants to blog, promote the most interesting blogs, etc.
This job requires a huge responsibility and skills, but it can also be very rewarding in many ways. Not to mention unlimited opportunities for experimentation and creativity and a very impressive line on your resume.

We already have a successful X-Culture Facebook with over 85,000 followers (as of Dec 1, 2016). There have been multiple requests to also add Twitter, LinkedIn, and possibly more platforms.
First, we can duplicate our posts from FB there, but also use those for their dedicated purposes.
Twitter can be used for more regular reminders and short discussions, LinkedIn for more professional connections, certification, and more, Instagram for photo sharing, etc.
The problem is, at the Central Office we have no idea how these things work.
We are looking for a Social Media Manager who could help us establish and manage our presence on various social platforms.
This job requires some special skills and responsibility, but it can also be very rewarding in many ways. You will have ample opportunities to test your creative ideas and add a very impressive line on your resume.
Submit your proposed strategy for the X-Culture social presence to be considered for the position.

We are looking for a person who could help with setting up a discussion platform (our IT person can do the technical stuff, but he needs guidance), then manage the discussions, organize the archives, moderate the comments if needed, etc.
This job requires some special skills and responsibility, but it can also be very rewarding in many ways. You will have ample opportunities to test your creative ideas and add a very impressive line on your resume.

Do you have a pleasant voice and excellent diction?
We’re creating a collection of instructional and promotional videos and can always use help of people who can help us voice these materials. Basically we need people with good diction and pronunciation who can help us prepare voice-over sound files.
It’s not quite a part in a major studio movie, but could still be a lot of fun.
Submit a one-minute sample audio file to be considered for the position – any text will do.
[/showhide] - [showhide type=”grants” more_text=”Grants and Funding Officer” less_text=”Hide details” hidden=”yes”]Grants and Funding Officer
We’ve received several research grants in the past that allowed us to hire help and conduct research around X-Culture. There are various research, collaboration, travel, social, awards, prizes, and other sources of funding that X-Culture would be a perfect candidate for – we just don’t know about them.
The Grant/Funding Officer’s job would be to seek out such opportunities, prepare applications, and provide other assistance towards obtaining the funding.
This particular position can actually have a monetary compensation based on the percent of the fudging obtained.
Submit your funding strategy proposal to be considered for the position – or just share grant opportunity leads.
[/showhide] - [showhide type=”designer” more_text=”Graphic Designer” less_text=”Hide details” hidden=”yes”]Graphic Designer
All X-Culture materials are rather primitive in terms of their design.
All our documents are a plain Word file, maybe with a logo and page number.
It would be nice to give these materials a more professional look.
We especially need help with designing an X-Culture stationary and an X-Culture themed slides template, and possibly update our website look.
This position will provide unlimited opportunities for creativity and a new page to your portfolio.
Send in your design ideas and we’ll see how we can collaborate – possibly on a permanent paid basis.
[/showhide] - [showhide type=”analytic” more_text=”Business Report Analyst” less_text=”Hide details” hidden=”yes”]Business Report Analyst
Every semester we receive about 1,000 business proposals. 50 to 150 per client. The reports are long and detailed. It is a lot of information to process and make sense of.
We are looking for talented people with analytic skills who can review and integrate the many reports. The goal is to present a neat executive summary of each of the proposal batches.
This could be an intellectually demanding task, but you will also get to review a large number of business proposals and interesting ideas. It will also be a good exercise in data processing and analysis – and a very impressive line on your resume.
Request a job sample to test your analytic skills – you’ll get the job if you pass the test.
[/showhide] - [showhide type=”copyeditor” more_text=”Copyeditor” less_text=”Hide details” hidden=”yes”]Copyeditor
Most of our materials are prepared by non-native English speakers and contain numerous typos, poor wording, redundancies and inefficiencies.
We really need help of a person who can regularly review our documents and webpages and correct the language and formatting.
The job could also involve checking the X-Culture website for structural integrity, link functionality, etc.
Don’t want to take on this task on a permanent basis, but see a typo on our website? Let us know. Even a single correction would be hugely appreciated.
Send in your corrections for one of our webpages to be considered for the position.
[/showhide] - [showhide type=”newsletter” more_text=”Newsletter Editor” less_text=”Hide details” hidden=”yes”]Newsletter Editor
We need help with preparing our monthly newsletter.
The Newsletter Editor will collect newsletter-worthy stories during the month, then put them in a professionally written and neatly formatted newsletter.
It can include updates on the project itself, but also information about X-Culture instructors’ achievements, new appointments and relocations, position openings where X-Culture experience would be an asset, calls for paper and grant proposal submissions that might be of interest to X-Culture colleagues, etc.
We will provide the newsletter items, but if you want to take it a step further, you can interview our best students and instructors, add international business news, or anything else that would be interesting to our subscribers.
The newsletter is distributed via the X-Culture Facebook page, X-Culture website, and X-Culture mailing list (total number of subscribers over 100,000 people).
This is a huge responsibility, but also a unique networking and experience opportunity. And a great line on your resume.
Submit your X-Culture Newsletter vision to be considered for the position.
